The gantry crane main motor circuit generally includes the main motor winding, series resistance, AC contactor and linkage lines in the control box and son on. When the gantry crane in normal operation, the series resistance group put into operation for most of the time, it will produce a lot of heat, so that the temperature of the resistor group is high.
In high temperature environment, both the resistance and the resistance connection terminals are easy-deteriorating. It will change the resistance material, and may lead to resistance connection terminals fracture, cause the motor rotor or stator series resistance unbalance.
At the same time, the gantry crane operation need a variety of frequency AC contactor switching, the contact is very easy damage because of the frequent switching, resulting some contact resistance becomes large or lack of phase, the motor series resistance value will be unbalance.
In both cases, gantry crane heavy load or overload or prolonged operation will cause damage to the motor and other failures.
